My name is Kit, I am a Paramedic by trade, and a passionate foodie by nature. Big Smoke Barbecue started as nothing more than a simple hobby and passion, cooking for friends and family. Barbecue is a diverse cuisine, that encapsulates a vast array of styles, flavor profiles, and techniques. In an effort to appease everyone I began to workshop a sauce that made everyone happy. “THE” sauce. The original sauce that is the founding corner of Big Smoke Barbecue.

The long term plan in life has been to retire from EMS to run a brick and mortar barbecue joint. In the fall of 2023, I took the first step in that journey and officially formed Big Smoke Barbecue, LLC. The plan for 2024 is to start to branch into catering events, selling sauce, and getting out to Farmer’s markets in Central Indiana as my schedule allows.
